Executive Producer- Jim Odle
Cowboy Church is an exciting 30-minute program from executive producer Jim Odle, previous owner and manager of Superior Livestock Auction and creator of The American Rancher on RFD-TV.
Jim Odle was born in Lenora, Kansas on February 2, 1938 to Percy and Lucille Odle. In 1939 his family moved to a farm near Kuner, Colorado where he was raised with his sister, Billy Lou. On December 18, 1959 he married Ruth Ann Dunn of Eaton, Colorado. They farmed and ranched near Kuner, Colorado from 1958 to 1969, during which time Jim started his auction career. Jim and Ruth Ann currently reside on their ranch south of Brush, Colorado where they farm, run a cow-calf and feeder operation and raise quarter horses. They have four children, Deanna, Ted, Amy and Tom as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim has been a pioneer in the video cattle auction industry and has been honored with many awards over the years. Some of these include: 1995 Inductee into the Colorado Auctioneer Hall of Fame, 2006 National Cattlemen's Foundation Beef Industry "Vision Award", 2012 Inductee into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, 2015 Inductee into the Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame, 2018 Inductee into the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum's "Hall of Great Westerners", and 2019 Cattle Feeders Hall of Fame "Leadership Award".
Boots, spurs, and yes, even cowboy hats are worn indoors when you attend a church that's designed for cowboys. Cowboy Church is a weekly show on RFD-TV and The Cowboy Channel co-hosted by award-winning country gospel singer Susie McEntire, younger sister of Reba McEntire, and Russ Weaver, former PRCA calf roper and pastor of Shepherd's Valley Cowboy Church.
Each week Susie and Russ will give you an insider's glimpse into Cowboy Church as they take you to exciting events like rodeos, cuttings, and horse shows. Cowboy Church is directed and edited by Jim Barnes. Jimmy has 30 years experience in the TV and Music business. Jimmy is originally from Folsom, California but has lived in Branson, Missouri since 1990 with his wife Debrah. They have 3 children and ten grandchildren (3 grandsons and 7 granddaughters) and one great granddaughter.
Jimmy has been with RFD-TV since March 2007 and with Cowboy Church since September 2007. Prior to that, he spent 11 years working with country legend Mickey Gilley. Jimmy has also worked with other talented folks such as Alabama, The Judds, Moe Bandy, Faron Young, Ronnie McDowell, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, The Osmond Brothers, plus many other artists and songwriters in the country and rock-n-roll genres.
